What is IP Geolocation?

IP Geolocation maps a mathematical IP address to a physical, real-world location. It provides the country, region, city, zip code, and the ISP servicing that specific connection.

It queries massive, constantly updated databases maintained by specialized companies that monitor IP allocations and their associated geographic endpoints via traceroutes and partner data.

Advanced Details

IP geolocation is essentially an educated estimation. While Country and State levels are highly accurate (99%), City-level accuracy can drop depending on how an ISP routes its local traffic through mobile or satellite links.
